Ladybirds – Reception

Welcome to Class Ladybirds!

Our Reception class is well-equipped with a wide range of continuous provision and opportunities for adult led and child led learning. The curriculum is planned from story books and children’s interests as a starting point. Phonics is taught as part of the daily lessons using a systematic approach through Essential Letters & Sounds. The class operates a Key Person system which provides one person to whom parents can communicate and who knows your child well, their likes and dislikes, styles of learning and interests. This person and others in the setting are responsible for observing your developing child, making assessments on their progress and planning appropriate next steps for their learning.

Our wonderful staff team are our teacher, Miss Unwin, and support staff, Mrs Leach.

Our Ladybirds are aged 4 and 5 years old.
